Greetings
everyone!
Welcome to the website. I am looking forward to a great year!
SaintSong, my new recording for Spirit and
Song, will be officially releasing on June 15, 2009. The project
has been long in the dreaming, and it feels like it’s been even
longer in the making! We should have the website ready to take
orders soon. A description from Spirit and Song about the new
recording:
“Six Years ago, Sarah stumbled across
the Anima Christi in an old prayer book her mother used as a child.
Awed by the beauty of this ancient prayer, she set it to music; then
began searching for more. The first collection of it’s kind,
SaintSong is a contemporary montage featuring wisdom from saints
throughout the ages. The collection presents 11 brand new
compositions in Sarah’s inimitable folk-pop style style. Texts
include poems, prayers and other writings by some of the Church’s
most revered doctors and theologians. Combine the devotional book
with Sarah’s heartfelt performance of these songs and you get a
powerful resource for personal prayer”.
Our women’s
day retreat and evening concert has been our most popular event
offering. Please check out the banner if you are interested in
bringing this mission to the women if your faith community. For any
questions about concerts, retreats, workshops, bookings and the
like, please contact Jessica Ogle (djogle@sbcglobal.net).
December and
January were quite busy with the production of music and voiceovers
for “Cinderella”, which will premiere at the Nashville Public
Library Children’s Puppet Theater in downtown Nashville, beginning
the second week of July 2009. Come early to the shows to get a good
seat…they average 7000 visitors a month! It was such a fun show to
work on. Believe the hype when you hear it...it’s gonna be a ball!
Spirit and Song (www.spiritandsong.com)
is a really great resource for contemporary liturgy leaders. I
encourage you, if you fall into this category (or even if you
don’t), to check out “The Commons”. What I love about The Commons is
that it not only introduces you to new music, but to the writers
behind the songs and their stories about why they were written. And
since songwriting is my passion, I can’t say enough about how cool
that is!
For any
print questions, please check the aforementioned Spirit and Song
website, or try
www.ocp.org, or call 1-800-548-8749. I promise (really!) that if
you e-mail me asking for print I will not be able to provide it for
you. But if there is something you would like to see in print that
is currently unavailable, let the fine folks at Spirit and Song know
about it.
Lots of travels
upcoming…hope to see you in those travels!
Blessings, peace,
and see you soon -
